Restore the warm, glowing flame and smoke effect of a compatible Dimplex electric fire with this amber 50W MR16 halogen replacement bulb. The coloured reflector produces the distinctive amber illumination used to light the flame and mist effect inside selected Dimplex Opti-myst fires.

This low-voltage lamp operates at 12V and has a standard GU5.3 two-pin cap. Its 50mm MR16 reflector makes it a suitable replacement for an existing fire bulb carrying the same voltage, wattage, shape and cap specifications.

Check before ordering

Dimplex electric fires use several different types of replacement lamp. This bulb is not suitable for every Dimplex fire. Before ordering, remove the existing lamp and check that it is marked as:

• 12V
• 50W or an approved 45–50W replacement
• MR16 reflector shape
• GU5.3 two-pin cap
• Amber finish

The two GU5.3 pins are approximately 5.3mm apart. Do not confuse this lamp with a mains-voltage GU10 bulb, which has a larger twist-and-lock cap.

Replacing your electric fire bulb

Disconnect the electric fire from the mains supply and allow the existing lamp to cool completely before attempting replacement. Follow the bulb replacement instructions supplied with your fire. Avoid touching the new halogen lamp with bare fingers, as oils transferred to the lamp may shorten its operating life.
