Durable LED Lighting from Signify Ecolink

Signify Ecolink LED non-corrosive fittings provide practical, energy-efficient illumination for areas exposed to dust, moisture or more demanding operating conditions. Their enclosed IP65 construction makes them a more protective alternative to standard open LED battens.

The range is suitable for applications including garages, workshops, warehouses, covered parking areas, industrial facilities and selected outdoor locations. Every fitting produces 4000K cool white illumination, creating a bright and practical environment for general visibility and everyday tasks.

With 4ft, 5ft and 6ft sizes available in single and twin-output versions, the range covers everything from a compact home workshop to a larger commercial installation.

Choose the Right Size and Output

The most suitable fitting will depend on the dimensions of the space, its mounting height and the amount of light required. Ecolink offers two output levels at every available length.

Length

Single version

Twin version

Typical applications

4ft / 1200mm

22W, 2400lm

44W, 4800lm

Smaller garages, workshops, utility areas and storage rooms

5ft / 1500mm

31W, 3500lm

53W, 6800lm

Medium workshops, covered parking areas and commercial workspaces

6ft / 1800mm

44W, 4300lm

65W, 7800lm

Warehouses, industrial areas and larger garages or workshops

These applications are general guidance. The correct number and positioning of fittings will also depend on the room layout, mounting surface and required lighting level.

Single or Twin Non-Corrosive Fittings?

A twin Ecolink fitting produces considerably more light than the corresponding single version. The terms follow the familiar single-tube and twin-tube fluorescent fittings that integrated LED products often replace.

Single versions may provide sufficient general illumination in smaller spaces or where several fittings will be installed evenly across an area. Twin versions are better suited to larger spaces, higher mounting positions and working environments requiring greater visibility.

Always compare lumen output rather than wattage alone. Wattage tells you how much electricity the fitting uses, whereas lumens indicate how much visible light it produces.

What Does IP65 Mean?

The Ecolink non-corrosive range is designed with IP65 protection. The first digit means the enclosure is dust-tight, while the second indicates protection against water jets from different directions.

This makes the fittings suitable for many environments where a standard IP20 batten would not provide enough protection, including:

  • Garages affected by dust or condensation
  • Workshops and industrial areas
  • Warehouses and storage facilities
  • Covered car parks
  • Utility and maintenance areas
  • Agricultural or similar working environments
  • Suitable outdoor or covered exterior locations

IP65 does not mean that a fitting can be submerged in water. Suitability still depends on its position, the conditions at the installation site and correct fitting in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions.

LED Batten or Non-Corrosive Fitting?

A standard LED batten is generally intended for clean, dry indoor environments. It can be a suitable choice for an office, dry stockroom, utility room or well-protected garage.

A non-corrosive fitting has an enclosed construction designed to provide increased protection against moisture and dust. It is therefore the better choice for more demanding garages, workshops, warehouses, covered parking areas and other locations where an open batten may be vulnerable.

Despite the familiar name, “non-corrosive” should not be interpreted as a guarantee that the fitting is unaffected by every chemical, coastal or highly corrosive environment. The precise site conditions should be assessed before installation.

Bright 4000K Cool White Light

All six Ecolink non-corrosive fittings produce 4000K cool white light. This provides a clean, practical appearance that works particularly well in garages, workshops, warehouses and industrial settings.

The clear illumination can make equipment, work surfaces, vehicles and potential obstacles easier to see. A stated colour rendering index of CRI 80 provides suitable everyday colour appearance for general domestic, trade and commercial tasks.

An Integrated LED Alternative to Fluorescent Fittings

Ecolink non-corrosive fittings use integrated LED technology, so separate fluorescent tubes and starters are not required. This creates a complete, energy-efficient fitting and reduces the maintenance associated with traditional fluorescent lighting.

The range delivers up to 129 lumens per watt and has a stated operating life of up to 50,000 hours. High-quality Philips-approved drivers and stainless-steel clips are also used to support dependable long-term performance.

Actual energy savings and service life will depend on the previous installation, operating hours, environmental conditions and correct installation.

Suitable for Domestic and Professional Applications

For domestic customers, an Ecolink non-corrosive fitting can provide practical lighting in a garage, workshop, outbuilding or covered working area where dust or moisture may be present.

For electricians, facilities managers and commercial customers, the broader range of lengths and outputs supports installations in warehouses, industrial premises, covered parking areas and other professional environments.

Several evenly positioned fittings may provide more consistent illumination than one very high-output unit, particularly in long, wide or unusually shaped spaces.

Optional Three-Hour Self-Test Emergency Pack

The category also includes a waterproof EM300V three-hour self-test emergency pack for compatible Ecolink fittings. When correctly installed, an emergency pack enables a suitable fitting to provide reduced illumination if the normal mains supply fails.

The self-test function performs scheduled checks automatically, helping reduce the manual testing burden in suitable commercial and communal installations. Compatibility with the selected non-corrosive fitting must be confirmed before ordering.

Emergency lighting should be designed, installed and maintained by a suitably qualified professional according to the building’s fire-risk assessment and applicable UK requirements.

Ecolink Non-Corrosive Fittings: FAQs

Ecolink LED non-corrosive fittings are available in 4ft (1200mm), 5ft (1500mm) and 6ft (1800mm) lengths. Each size is offered in a single or higher-output twin version.

The twin version produces more light than the corresponding single fitting. A single model may suit a smaller space or an installation using several fittings, while a twin model may be preferable in larger areas or where greater illumination is needed.

IP65 means the fitting has a dust-tight enclosure and protection against water jets. This makes it suitable for many dusty or damp environments, although it must not be submerged and should always be installed in a position appropriate for the site conditions.

Yes. They are particularly suitable for garages where dust, moisture or condensation means a standard IP20 LED batten may not provide sufficient protection. The installation conditions should still be assessed before fitting.

Ecolink non-corrosive fittings be used outdoors?

The IP65 construction makes these fittings suitable for selected outdoor and covered exterior applications when correctly installed. Their precise location and exposure should be assessed by the installer, and they must not be submerged in water.

A standard LED batten is generally designed for dry indoor locations. A non-corrosive fitting has a more protective enclosed construction, making it better suited to dusty, damp or more demanding environments.

Yes. An integrated LED non-corrosive fitting can provide an energy-efficient replacement for an older fluorescent unit. Compare its dimensions and lumen output with the existing fitting rather than selecting a replacement by wattage alone.

No. The LEDs are integrated into the fitting, so separate tubes and starters are not required. The complete fitting is replaced when it eventually reaches the end of its service life.

A compatible Ecolink three-hour self-test emergency pack is available within the category. Compatibility with the chosen fitting must be confirmed, and emergency lighting should be installed and maintained by a suitably qualified professional.

The fittings have a stated operating life of up to 50,000 hours. Actual service life will depend on operating hours, installation and environmental conditions.
