Sync Energy White External 100A Main Switch 40A B Curve MCB, Type 2 SPD
This Sync Energy white external EV circuit protection unit brings together a 100A main switch and 40A B-curve MCB with Type 2 surge protection. It provides a dedicated enclosure option for an installer specifying the supply to an EV charging point.
Key features
- IP65-rated enclosure for suitable external installations
- White finish
- 100A main switch and 40A B-curve MCB
- Type 2 surge protection device included
- Populated protection assembly for an EV charger circuit
Choosing this product
The main switch provides local isolation and the MCB provides overcurrent protection. The Type 2 SPD addresses transient overvoltage. A main switch is not an RCD: residual-current protection must be considered elsewhere in the complete circuit design. The unit can be considered for a home charging installation or a suitably designed workplace, hotel or commercial charging circuit. For property owners, it is supporting supply equipment rather than the charger itself; contractors should match the assembly to the actual circuit requirements.

Compatibility and installation
Supply equipment must be selected and installed by a qualified electrician for the specific charger, earthing arrangement, cable route and supply. Do not select solely by colour or enclosure rating. Maintain the enclosure rating with suitable cable entries and installation methods. The 40A protective-device rating is not the vehicle charging rate. Charger and installation are not included.
